Job Description & Candidate Profile
 

Position Responsibilities:

Partner Associate (PA) will be expected to be experienced and capable of independently leading larger teams with a significant revenue target. PA will also be expected to play a greater role in the management of the firm and take on greater responsibility in the areas of fiscal management, talent acquisition and development and driving new business growth.

PA will be expected to have a professional network and represent the firm at industry and trade associations, including undertaking speaking engagements in their field of expertise. The individual will be expected to play a key role in staff development, including running in-house training programmes and pro-actively managing the Performance Appraisal process.

Client Servicing - Consulting Skills:

  • Oversees a significant portfolio of clients and demonstrates the ability to profitably grow clients and build long lasting client relationships
  • Seeks opportunities to develop senior level client relationships and serves as the senior point person and trusted advisor for clients
  • Provides overall strategic direction and quality standards and is dedicated to the achievement of outstanding results with a long-term perspective
  • Attends important client events, meetings and account reviews to provide strategic input and ensure quality execution of client programs
  • Pro-actively manages client expectations and quickly grasps problems, makes tough decisions and implements swift action plans to ensure client satisfaction
  • Reviews existing client programs with account teams and regularly attends internal WIP meetings to keep fully briefed on client activities and maintain high standards of client work
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the client's business and challenges and proactively communicates with the client on market or industry issues and events which may affect them
  • May need to take the lead on issues and crisis management, media training, messaging workshops etc.

New Business:

  • Actively develops own business contacts through professional activities to generate new business leads
  • Manages the entire new business process from attending briefing sessions to leading brainstorm sessions, delegating key tasks and developing new business proposals
  • Assigns appropriate team members for the new business pitch and manages timelines to ensure rehearsals are built into the process
  • Budgets activities properly or manages scope of work within realistic budget guidelines to ensure an effective ratio of work to fees to profitably achieve desired results for both the prospect and the firm
  • Negotiates adequate fees to profitably lead the business and knows how to diplomatically decline new business assignments due to resourcing, ethical and budgetary issues
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for organic growth with existing clients
  • Introduces existing clients to PPR South Asia’s offices in other geographies to contribute to the global growth of the firm

Fiscal Management:

  • Acts as a conduit between Finance and the client servicing team to ensure that accounts are profitably managed and to understand the reasons for over and under servicing
  • Develops and tracks client budgets and vigilantly follows-up on invoicing and payment to manage Accounts Receivables
  • Prepares and manages annual budgets and forecasts of projected income
  • Ensures Contracts and Terms and Conditions of Business are issued and signed by all new clients prior to the commencement of work

Team Leadership Skills:

  • Acts as a leader to client teams and oversees team performance by prioritizing responsibilities and delegating tasks according to the capabilities and experience of team members and client budget and needs
  • Ensures that teams are equipped with the right resources, tools and training to build high performing teams and manage workloads
  • Consistently serves as a positive role model who embodies the values of the firm and exhibits leadership qualities to the team
  • Is an active mentor who serves as a trusted coach and is available in formal and informal ways to guide the professional development and grow and retain talent
  • Proactively addresses staff performance issues in a timely fashion and acts decisively to address opportunities and problems within client teams
  • Fosters teamwork and builds morale and motivation within account teams, ensuring that good performance and efforts are recognized
  • Takes an active interest in the career development of team members, sets realistic and achievable qualitative and quantitative goals for team members in performance appraisals and makes recommendations on promotions and salary increments
  • Develops team’s expertise on clients’ business and conducts on-the-job training and formal training sessions as appropriate
  • Plays a lead role in Learning & Development; can include acting as Professor or Coach for a training program and/or serving as a Mentor
  • Takes an active involvement in the recruitment process of new staff to complement existing team and deliver client programs
  • Approves annual leave and expense claims for team members
  • Attends senior management meetings and has a point of view on key areas that will contribute to the successful growth of the firm, including new business, training and staff retention initiatives
